Johnfox

A customer at a Philadelphia Toys R Us has sued the toy company for an injury she

sustained when a fire extinguisher fell on her foot, according to a complaint filed at the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.

Audrey Ziadat, of Landenberg, Pa., was shopping in the store located at the 27oo block of south Third St. in Philadelphia on June 17, 2012, when a fire extinguisher hanging on a pole in the middle of an aisle fell onto her foot.

According to the complaint, the incident created a laceration on her foot that required stitches, as well as causing hypersensitivity, foot numbness and nerve injuries. The complaint says that Ziadat has paid mounting expenses for consistent medical attention for the injuries, as well as experiencing limited capacity to perform her regular duties, thus decreasing her wage-earning power.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory and punitive damages from Toys R Us, claiming the store employees' negligence contributed directly to the accident. The xomplaint says that the store had a responsibility to secure the fire extinguisher and ensure the premises were safe and secure for its customers. Ziadat's husband, Brian Andris, has jointly filed against Toys R Us, claiming loss of consortium and companionship whit his wife due to the employees' negligence and carelessness.

Ziadat and Andris are represented by Philadelphia attorney John Fox.

The case ID number is 14050332.
