A woman visiting the Chickie's and Pete's restaurant located inside Parx Casino in

Bensalem has sued both the restaurant and casino for failing to maintain a safe environment for customers, according to papers filed with the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.

The complaint says that Peggy Baldissero, of Williamstown, N.J,, entered the premises on July 2, 2012, when she slipped on an obstruction and fell to the ground. As a result, she suffered severe injuries to her body and limbs, including her back, discs and muscles. She also experienced aggravation of pre-existing injuries, anxiety and post-traumatic syndrome, according to the claim.

The incident allegedly forced Baldissero to incur ongoing medical expenses while having more difficulty performing her normal occupational duties, thus harming her earning power. She also claims the injury has prevented her from enjoying the everyday pleasures of life.

The plaintiff seeks damages not to exceed $50,000 from Chickie's and Pete's and Parx Casino. Baldissero says both companies were responsible for ensuring the floors were cleared from potential hazards that could injure passersby.

Baldissero is represented by Steven Lipschutz of Lipschutz & Friedman.

The case ID number is 140601282.
