A Hatboro woman is suing her former boss over allegations of discriminatory practices.

Kimberly Mackintosh filed suit against Hull & Co. Inc. and Brown & Brown Inc., both of Horsham, on Sept. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, citing violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Labor Standards Act and the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act.

According to the complaint, Mackintosh was hired by Hull & Co. Inc. in March 2014. Mackintosh needed to visit her doctor often for various medical conditions, none of which impacted her performing her job, and she made up her time missed at work during regular lunch hours or other periods, the complaint states. At the time, she did not have a set schedule. On Sept. 27, 2014, her supervisor Chris Votta gave her a letter stating that she needed to work more than a 40-hour work week and the letter disciplined her for her attendance. In November 2014, a co-worker, Andrea Montone, made hostile comments about Mackintosh parking in the handicap parking space that Mackintosh report to management in writing. After reporting this, she was fired on Nov. 21, 2014, but was told she was being terminated for performance and attendance issues.

Mackintosh asks for a judgment that includes her reimbursement for all pay that she would have received and benefits as well as legal fees and compensation for punitive damages. Mackintosh is represented by Ari R Karpf, of Karpf, Karpf & Cerruti, PC
