PHILADELPHIA – A former employee is suing a pizzeria claiming that he was deprived of more than 900 hours of overtime pay.

Alex Vetrulli filed a complaint on Nov. 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against JLE Enterprises LLC, doing business as Main Street Pizzeria and Grille, alleging violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act, Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act and the Pennsylvania Wage Payment and Collection Law.

According to the complaint, Vetrulli was hired by the company in October 2014 for the position of assistant manager. At the start of his employment he was paid $10 per hour, the complaint states. During his time with the company, Vetrulli alleges that he consistently worked overtime without pay. The plaintiff purports that the defendant denied obligation to pay for overtime hours. Between the dates of October 2014 and July 2015, the plaintiff claims to have worked 64 hours per week for a total of 984 overtime hours. Vetrulli is suing the company for violations of fair wage standards and minimum wage laws.

Vetrulli is seeking compensation for all damages, legal fees and lost wages of $14,760. He is represented by Sidney L. Gold and Traci M. Greenberg of Sidney L. Gold and Associates, PC in Philadelphia.
