PHILADELPHIA — A Pennsylvania restaurant group is suing Red Robin over a franchise agreement dispute.
Lehigh Valley Restaurant Group Inc. filed a lawsuit on Jan. 15 in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania District Court against Red Robin International Inc., alleging breach of contract and breach of duty of good faith and fair dealing.
Lehigh Valley owns and operates 21 Red Robin restaurants throughout Pennsylvania. Throughout the years, the two parties allegedly enjoyed a good relationship with the two parties agreeing to multiple franchise agreements. Since 2013, however, Red Robin allegedly has failed and refused to acknowledge Lehigh Valley’s exercise of its right to renew the franchise agreements.
Lehigh Valley is seeking a trial by jury in addition to seeking damages, court costs and any other relief the court sees fit. The restaurant group also wants the court to declare that Lehigh Valley fully complied with the franchise agreements as required. George W. Warner of Barley Snyder in Lancaster is representing the plaintiff.
