Couple blames Domestic Corporation for wife's injuries

Eyeinjury

PHILADELPHIA — A Wernersville couple is suing an RV accessories supplier, alleging the wife was injured due to a faulty part.

Joan and Larry Latshaw of Wernersville filed a complaint Jan. 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Domestic Corporation, alleging negligence and products liability.

The suit states the Latshaws purchased an add-on part for their RV that did not come with any instructions for installation. On Feb. 4, 2014, the complaint says, Larry Latshaw was attaching the part when one of the plastic stakes that was connected to a bungee cord was pulled out of the ground and struck Joan Latshaw in the right eye.

As a result of the impact, Joan Latshaw has suffered serious and permanent injury and vision impairment, the suit says.

The Latshaws seek $75,000 for damages, court costs and legal fees. They are represented by attorneys Mark E. Lovett and Angela H. Sanders of Brubaker Connaughton Goss & Lucarelli LLC in Lancaster.
