PHILADELPHIA — An employee is suing his former company, alleging negligence for injuries he says he suffered on the job.

Lisandro Ortiz filed a complaint Feb. 1 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Bluff Manufacturing Inc, based in Texas, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Bluff sold, supplied, and/or distributed products and components with which Ortiz worked. On Oct. 16, 2014, the suit says, Ortiz was driving a forklift up a Bluff yard ramp when the ramp collapsed.

The plaintiff alleges the accident caused him severe injuries, including a torn right ACL.

Ortiz seeks damages for more than $150,000, including attorney fees and other court costs. He is represented by attorneys Brandon A. Swartz and Bryan M. Ferris of Swartz Culleton PC in Newtown.
