Philadelphia man alleges General Information Services violated law

PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia resident is suing a consumer reporting agency, alleging violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Antwine Slade filed a lawsuit June 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against General Information Services Inc, alleging violation of FCRA.

According to the complaint, General Information Services was responsible for reporting false and derogatory information about Slade, and this information was later posted on the plaintiff's consumer report.

The suit states that due to this false information, Slade was delayed employment in October 2014, by the U.S. Postal Service, even though the basis was not true. The plaintiff alleges he sustatined delayed employment, emotional distress, humiliation and embarrassment.

Slade seeks compesation for actual, statutory and punitive damages, as well as attorney fees and a jury trial. He is represented by attorneys Mark D. Mailman and Gregory Gorski of Francis & Mailman PC in Philadelphia.
