Man claims gender discrimination by vein clinic

Stopdiscrimination

PHILADELPHIA — A man has sued a former employer over allegations of gender discrimination.

Didier Antoine filed a lawsuit on March 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Vein Clinics of America Inc., citing violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act.

According to the complaint, Antoine was hired by the defendant to work at its location in Wayne, Pennsylvania, and worked for approximately three months as a vascular technician. The plaintiff claims that he was the only male technician during his employment period and was discriminated against on the basis of his gender.

The plaintiff avers that he was told he was being terminated because he did not successfully complete training after 12 weeks; however, before his termination, he was allegedly informed by a coworker that numerous individuals were given substantially more than 12 weeks to complete training. He claims he was terminated for being the only male in the workplace.

Antoine seeks that the defendant change their discriminating policies, compensation for all lost pay and benefits, punitive damages, costs, expenses, and a trial by jury. He is represented by Ari R. Karpf of Karpf, Karpf & Cerutti PC, in Bensalem.
