American Indian sues dairy company over land ownership issue

Lawsuit

HARRISBURG – A dairy company is being sued by an Aboriginal/Indigenous American Indian woman who claims that she is an owner of the land where the company manufactures its products and is entitled to $3,500 for monthly land rental expenses.

Tonia Scott filed a lawsuit Feb. 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against John Cox, Turkey Hill L.P. alleging a violation of the U.S. Constitution, Treaties and Title 18, Part 1, Chapter 12 of the United States Codes of Law.

On Jan. 27, 2016, Scott claims that she contacted the Turkey Hill customer service center and was informed to fax her legal notification, detailing that she had wished to be financially compensated as an owner of the land. She says Turkey Hill, L.P. has failed to compensate her for usage.

She is seeking $3,500 for monthly land rental expenses. Scott listed no legal representation in her complaint.
