PHILADELPHIA — A nurse is suing Delaware County Memorial Hospital and Crozer-Keystone Health System, former employers, citing alleged hostile work environment and wrongful termination.

Kimberly Reeves filed a complaint on April 19 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they violated the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act and Americans with Disabilities Act regulations.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, between March 2006 and June 2015, she she was employed by the defendants, and in December 2014, she began to suffer various health conditions that affected her ability to perform daily activities, which required her to take medical leave of absence. In June 2015, she returned to work and worked approximately one day before she was terminated, the suit says, allegeing that in the meeting leading up to her termination, her absences related to her health condition were questioned and deemed to be a problem for the defendants. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly treated her in a hostile and demeaning manner, refused to engage in any interactive process and terminated her because of her perceived disabilities and because she requested accommodations.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment prohibiting the defendants from continuing their allegedly illegal policy, compensation for all damages, costs, expenses and legal fees for this action and any or all other relief as the court may deem just and proper.
