PHILADELPHIA — Three New York residents are suing David B. Amos and David S. Emmons, vehicle operators, citing alleged negligence and carelessness.

Corey T. Conner, Nashawn Kearse and William H. Dixon filed a complaint on April 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they failed to operate their vehicles in a safe manner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that, on May 3, 2014, Corey T. Conner, Nashawn Kearse and William H. Dixon were riding in a 2010 Nissan Altima, owned and operated by plaintiff Conner, which was stopped northbound on Interstate 95 when the defendants, both traveling behind, collided with each other, striking the rear of Conner's vehicle, causing it to be pushed and strike another vehicle.

As a direct result, the plaintiffs sustained serious bodily injuries, the suit says. The plaintiffs holds David B. Amos and David S. Emmons responsible because the defendants allegedly operated their vehicles at excessive rates of speed, failed to have their vehicles under proper and adequate control and failed to keep proper lookout.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $75,000, plus interest, attorneys' fees and costs. They are represented by Brad S. Tabakin and Richard A. Wolfe of Tabakin Wolfe LLP in Plymouth Meeting.
