PITTSBURGH — A Johnstown man is suing TransUnion LLC, a consumer reporting agency, citing alleged inaccurate reporting.

David C. Wylie filed a complaint on May 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against TransUnion LLC alleging that the consumer reporting agency allegedly violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages to his creditworthiness, financial harm, the incurring of attorney’s fees and emotional distress due to the strain of the error, and has additionally suffered harm in his relationship with his daughter. The plaintiff holds TransUnion LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly falsely and inaccurately reported the status of an alleged debt owe to credit furnisher First National Bank of Pennsylvania.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for actual, compensatory, statutory and punitive damages, attorney’s fees and costs and such other and further relief as the court shall deem just and proper. He is represented by Matthew M. Herron of The Debt Doctors at Quatrini Rafferty in Pittsburgh.
