PHILADELPHIA — A former employee is suing Certainteed Corporation, alleging failure to pay proper overtime wages.
Megan Morris filed a complaint on May 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania
against the defendant, alleging that the employer failed to fairly compensate plaintiff for all hours worked.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between April 2012 and December 2015, she worked 55-hour weeks on average, but was not paid overtime wages for hours in excess of 40 per week. The plaintiff holds Certainteed Corporation responsible because the defendant allegedly improperly classified her as an exempt employee.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid compensation plus interest, liquidated damages, all court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Michael Murphy of Murphy Law Group, LLC in Philadelphia.
