PHILADELPHIA — A former housekeeper is suing Traditions of Hanover and Cathy Heimsoth, employer and company executive director, citing alleged discrimination, failure to uphold Americans with Disabilities Act regulations, and violation of the Family and Medical Leave Act.

Patricia Latsch filed a complaint on May 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants alleging that they terminated rgw plaintiff's employment due to her disability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was disabled and had to file for a medical leave. While being treated, her physician suggested that she needed surgery and she immediately informed her employer for an extension of her medical leave, but as a result she was terminated. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly terminated the plaintiff from her post, claiming that her situation was costing them too much, without even giving plaintiff proper notification or any opportunity to return to work.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, all medical expenses, back pay, lost wages and benefits plus interest, reinstatement, punitive and/ or liquidated damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by George S. Kounoupis and Michael E. Alpago of Hahalis & Kounoupis, P.C. in Bethlehem.
