Couple's lawsuit blames company for fall in store

Couple accuse Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. t/d/b/a Wal-Mart Super Center of negligence

PENNSYLVANIA — A married couple's lawsuit against Wal-Mart Stores Inc., t/d/b/a Wal-Mart Super Center, alleges failure to warn, negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Debra Martin and Patrick Martin filed a complaint on July 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against the defendant, alleging that it failed to keep its premises free of any hazards that could cause an accident.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Jan. 22, Debra Martin sustained physical injuries when she slipped and fell. The plaintiffs holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to keep the floor of its premises clean.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $75,000. They are represented by Jamie J. Anzalone and Kelly M. Ciravolo of Anzalone Law Offices in Wilkes-Barre.
