Law money 10

PHILADELPHIA — A former employee is suing Armen Cadillac Inc., alleging violation of wage laws through improper classification as an exempt employee.

Patricia Mullen filed a complaint on Aug. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennyslvania against Armen Cadillac Inc., alleging that the employer failed to pay her proper overtime wages.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked 50- to 60-hour weeks as an office manager but was not paid an overtime premium for hours worked over 40 per week. The plaintiff holds Armen Cadillac Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly classified her as an exempt employee when she did not legally fit that description.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an award of back wages and/or overtime wages, liquidated damages, court costs, interest and any further relief the court grants.
