PHILADELPHIA — A motorist is suing the U.S. Postal Service, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Ashley Carrington filed a complaint on Aug. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against United States of America – United States Postal Service, alleging that a postal worker driving a government vehicle struck her car.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 25, 2014, she sustained damages to her property and physical injuries including post-concussion syndrome, cervical sprain and strain. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because the defendant's employee allegedly violated the motor vehicle laws of Pennsylvania and caused physical injuries to the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $100,000. She is represented by Stewart A. Bernstein of Kanter, Bernstein & Kardon, P.C. in Philadelphia.
