PHILADELPHIA — An employee is suing National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak), alleging negligence, insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries and violation of federal law.

Jeffrey Campbell filed a complaint on Aug. 15, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Amtrak, alleging that the employer failed to maintain a work area so as to be reasonably safe and well lit for employees.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in April, he sustained physical injuries when he stepped on debris causing his foot to twist and fracture. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for its alleged failure to keep the work area safe.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $150,000. He is represented by Michael J. Olley of Coffey Kaye Myers & Olley in Bala Cynwyd.
