PITTSBURGH — The federal government is suing Cassandra J. Irwin, alleging unpaid debt.

The United States of America filed a complaint on Aug. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Irwin, alleging that the defendant failed to settle her debt to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it has suffered damages from the unpaid debt. The plaintiff holds Irwin responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay the principal amount plus interest despite the plaintiff's demands.
