Woman blames theater for fall injuries

Slip02

PITTSBURGH — A woman is suing Phoenix Theatres Entertainment LLC, a property owner, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries, liability and negligence.

Mary J. Stewart filed a complaint on Aug. 29 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Phoenix Theatres Entertainment LLC, alleging that the property owner failed to keep the sidewalk of its premises reasonably even for its patrons.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 27, she sustained physical injuries when she tripped and fell. The plaintiff holds Phoenix Theatres Entertainment LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to fix the uneven sidewalk on its property or provide adequate warning to pedestrians using the sidewalk.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in a sum that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of the court. She is represented by John E. Quinn, and J. Julius Bolock of Portnoy & Quinn, LLC in Pittsburgh.
