PITTSBURGH — A Pennsylvania company is suing Wisconsin-based NPS Corporation, alleging patent infringement.

New Pig Corporation filed a complaint on Sept. 20 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, alleging that NPS Corporation offers products for sale that infringe the plaintiff's patent.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that New Pig Corporation sustained damages to its business due to the infringement of its patent. The plaintiff holds NPS Corporation responsible because the defendant allegedly knew of the infringement of the plaintiff's patent but continued to offer its infringing products.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendant. It also seeks damages suffered due to the infringement, treble damages, court costs and interest including any further relief the court grants. It is represented by Alan G. Towner, Eric G. Soller and Douglas M. Hall of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti LLP in Pittsburgh.
