MVP Group International, Dollar General blamed for injuries

PITTSBURGH -- A man is suing over injuries allegedly suffered when a glass lid on a candle broke.

Jeremy Thomas filed a complaint on Sept. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against MVP Group International Inc. and Dollar General Corporation, alleging product liability in the manufacture and distribution of defective glass jars to consumers.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 18, 2015 he suffered physical injuries when a glass lid broke. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to provide adequate warning to consumers regarding the hazards of the glass lid.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $75,000 plus interest and court costs.
