Grady Rentals accused of violating wage laws

PITTSBURGH — A former employee has filed a class-action lawsuit against Grady Rentals LLC, claiming the employer violated wage laws.

Matthew Conover filed a complaint on Oct. 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Grady Rentals LLC alleging that he was improperly classified as an independent contractor.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours per week but was not paid an overtime premium. He holds Grady Rentals LLC responsible for allegedly violating wage laws by not paying him overtime for weeks in which he worked more than 40 hours.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks overtime compensation, liquidated damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Don J. Foty of Kennedy Hodges, L.L.P. in Houston.
