PHILADELPHIA — A former restaurant server has filed a class action lawsuit against Hotel Restaurant Associates LLC, alleging violation of wage laws.

Patrice Thiede filed a complaint on Oct. 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Hotel Restaurant Associates LLC, alleging that the employer failed to fairly compensate her for her work.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours per week but was not paid overtime. The plaintiff holds Hotel Restaurant Associates LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly refused to pay the proper overtime premium for hours worked in excess of 40 per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid wages, overtime compensation and liquidated damages.
