PITTSBURGH — A man is suing Giant Eagle Inc., a property owner, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

John Cernansky filed a complaint on Oct. 11 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Giant Eagle Inc., alleging that the property owner allowed a foreign substance to remain on a floor.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 11, he sustained physical injuries from slipping and falling due to a foreign substance that was left on a floor. The plaintiff holds Giant Eagle Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly allowed the dangerous condition and failed to properly warn him regarding the hazardous condition of the floor.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $35,000 plus court costs. He is represented by Marc I. Simon of Simon & Simon, PC in Philadelphia.
