PHILADELPHIA — A consumer is suing TransUnion LLC, Equifax Information Services LLC and Experian Information Solutions Inc., alleging breach of duty and negligent misrepresentation by the credit reporting agencies.

Shirlan Rymer filed a complaint on Oct. 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they reported false and inaccurate information to third parties regarding the plaintiff's credit history.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff allegedly suffered credit-history damages including lost credit opportunities. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to properly review the plaintiff's credit score before sending the report to third parties.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. The plaintiff is represented by Mark Mailman and Geoffrey H. Baskerville of Francis & Mailman, P.C. in Philadelphia.
