Man claims Checkr reported inaccurate information about his credit history

PHILADELPHIA — A man is suing Checkr Inc., a credit reporting agency, alleging breach of duty and negligent misrepresentation.

Shawn Demetrius Felder filed a complaint on Oct. 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Checkr Inc., alleging that the credit reporting agency reported inaccurate information regarding his credit history to third parties.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he has lost credit opportunities and sustained damages to his credit rating. The plaintiff holds Checkr Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly issued false and inaccurate report to third parties that caused damages to his credit standing.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages, punitive damages and court costs. He is represented by Mark Mailman of Francis & Mailman, P.C. in Philadelphia.
