HARRISBURG — Several musical copyright holders are suing St. George & Mary Inc., d/b/a Johnny Joe's, and Hany Maawad, alleging copyright infringement.

Broadcast Music, Inc.; Sony/ATV Songs LLC d/b/a Sony/ATV Acuff Rose Music; Songs of Universal Inc.; Universal - Songs of Polygram International Inc.; Tremonti Stapp Music; Reservoir Media Management Inc. d/b/a Reservoir 416 a/k/a Reservoir One America; Sony/ATV Songs LLC d/b/a Sony/ATV Tree Publishing; Nashville Star Music, A Division of Reveille Music Publishing LLP; Carnival Music Company d/b/a Tiltawhirl Music; Hip City Music Inc.; and Hifrost Publishing filed a complaint on Nov. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they used the plaintiffs' musical compositions without permission.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered damages to their business due to copyright infringement. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because they defendants allegedly failed to respond to the plaintiffs' cease and desist letter regarding the use of their musical compositions.

The plaintiffs seek to enjoin the defendant from using the plaintiffs' musical compositions and an order for the defendant to pay statutory damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Kenneth J. McDermott, II of Tucker Arensberg, P.C. in Lemoyne.
