PHILADELPHIA — A woman is suing Trans Union LLC, Equifax Information Services LLC, Experian Information Solutions Inc. and Synchrony Financial, alleging negligent misrepresentation in credit reporting.

Rolinda Dawn Williams filed a complaint on Nov. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they marked the plaintiff as "deceased" on her credit reports.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she has suffered damages in the form of being declined for credit due to being marked as deceased on her credit report. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly tagged the plaintiff as "deceased" without asking for proper documentation.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Mark Mailman and Geoffrey H. Baskerville of Francis & Mailman, P.C. in Philadelphia.
