Reliance Standard Life Insurance Company accused of wrongly denying benefits

Insurance 06

PHILADELPHIA — A woman is suing Reliance Standard Life Insurance Company, citing alleged breach of contract.

Margaret Breiner filed a complaint on Nov. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Reliance Standard Life Insurance Company, alleging that the insurance firm wrongly denied her claim for disability benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2014, she became disabled and initially received benefits before they were terminated. The plaintiff holds Reliance Standard Life Insurance Company responsible because the defendant allegedly denied her appeal several times despite her existing disability according to the terms of the plan.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant, reinstatement of disability benefits and interest. She is represented by Kevin L. Orloski of Orloski Law Firm in Allentown.
