HARRISBURG — An employee is suing Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., an insurance firm, citing alleged breach of contract.

Candy Cullari filed a complaint on Nov. 16, in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. alleging that the insurance firm denied plaintiff's claim for benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, between 2013 and 2015, she became disabled and was being paid disability benefits until payments were suddenly terminated. The plaintiff holds Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated plaintiff's benefits despite still being disabled according to the terms of the plan.

The plaintiff seeks declaratory relief that the plaintiff is entitled to disability benefits, damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Joseph H. Jones, Jr. of Williamson, Friedberg & Jones, LLC in Pottsville.
