Carmeuse Lime and Stone accused of hostile work environment, discrimination

PITTSBURGH -- A woman is suing her former workplace supervisor, Wendy M. Kinest, and her former employer, Carmeuse Lime and Stone, alleging discrimination and retaliation.

Lisa M. Simpson filed a complaint on Nov. 15 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against the defendants, alleging intentional infliction of emotional distress, age and gender discrimination, retaliation and hostile work environment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she was driven out of her job unjustly and suffered health complications as a result of the defendants' actions toward her. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly discriminating against her and allegedly carrying out a campaign meant to drive her out of the company.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds $35,000 plus interest, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants.

She is represented by George R. Farneth II and Shane D. Valenzi of Farneth Tomosovich L.L.C. in Pittsburgh.
