Sam's Club incident allegedly caused injuries

PITTSBURGH — A married couple's lawsuit against Walmart Stores Inc. and Sam's East Inc. alleges negligence in connection with injuries suffered at the Sam's Club in Tarentum.

Deborah Kaczor and Paul Kaczor filed a complaint on Nov. 22 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against the defendants, alleging that they failed to maintain proper safety standards at their premises.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Dec. 16, 2014, Deborah Kaczor suffered physical injuries including a chest wall contusion, hip contusion and joint pain from being pinned between a cart retrieval vehicle and a wheelchair. The plaintiffs holds the defendants responsible for the alleged failure to properly train employees regarding the proper use of the cart retrieval vehicle.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court plus court costs, interest and any further relief this court grants. The plaintiffs are represented by G. Christopher Anessos of Friday & Cox LLC in Pittsburgh.
