Woman sues Lowe's after alleged fall at Carnegie store

PITTSBURGH — A married couple's lawsuit against Lowes Home Centers Inc. alleges negligence, liability and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Mary Adams and Miles Adams of Pittsburgh filed a complaint on Nov. 21 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against the defendant, alleging that it failed to make sure its store in Carnegie was adequately safe for its customers.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on May 25, Mary Adams suffered physical injuries including knee pain and shoulder pain as the result of falling. The plaintiffs holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to make sure a cart was safely stored and away from the entrance/exit of the store where it caused Mary Adams to fall.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the arbitration limits of this court plus interest and court costs. They are represented by Deanna Lyn Liptak of Ainsman Levine, LLC in Pittsburgh.
