Coatesville Chicken, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen accused of wage violation

Law money 12

PHILADELPHIA — A man is suing his former employers Coatesville Chicken LLC, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Inc. and Nazif Rahmani, alleging retaliation, unjust enrichment and violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Law and the Pennsylvania Wage Payment and Collection Law.

Ali Hassan filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they failed to pay the plaintiff for all time worked.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he sustained damages from not being properly compensated for overtime. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly violating wage law and constructively terminating him after he complained.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount equal to the benefits retained plus interest. He is represented by Franklin J. Rooks Jr. and Jared A. Jacobson of Jacobson & Rooks, LLC in Marlton, New Jersey.
