Employee says he was terminated from Hampton Inn after raising a concern

Wrongful term 08

PHILADELPHIA — A Fredericksburg man is suing his former employer, citing alleged discrimination, retaliation, unpaid wages, violation of Workers' Compensation acts and wrongful termination.

Andrew Worley filed a complaint on Jan. 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Jay Dana LLC, d/b/a Hampton Inn - Pine Grove, alleging that the employer discharged him from employment for raising a concern about a company policy.

According to the complaint, Worley alleges that he sustained damages from being required to report to work earlier than his scheduled shift without being paid for those hours. He holds the defendant responsible because it allegedly retaliated against him by terminating his employment.

Worley requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, liquidated damages, interest, court costs, punitive damages and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Stephen T. Mahan, Derrek W. Cummings and Larry A. Weisberg of McCarthy Weisberg Cummings, P.C. in Harrisburg.
