PHILADELPHIA — A Pittsburgh-based employee benefit administrator is suing a construction company in Hazle Township, citing alleged breach of contract.
Carpenters Combined Funds Inc. by James R. Klein filed a complaint on Feb. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against
Gottstein Contracting Corp., a/k/a Gottstein Corporation, Kenneth Gottstein and Barbara E. Gottstein, alleging that they failed to make monthly payments to the plaintiff for pensions, medical, annuity/savings, apprenticeships and dues.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it sustained damages to its Employee Retirement Income Security Act funds that it collects for certain employer associations and unions. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to remit funds to the plaintiff based on their labor agreement.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in the amount of $3,431.15 plus interest and court costs. The group is represented by Neil J. Gregorio and Jeffrey J. Leech of Tucker Arensberg P.C. in Pittsburgh.
