Woman says Cigna Group Insurance wrongly denied benefits

Insurance 07

PITTSBURGH — A woman is suing Cigna Group Insurance, citing alleged breach of contract.

Patreece Reinemann filed a complaint on Feb. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Cigna Group Insurance, alleging that the insurance company wrongly denied benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she sustained damages when her disability benefits were denied despite her disability. The plaintiff holds Cigna Group Insurance responsible because the defendant allegedly wrongly determined that it should not pay further benefits to the plaintiff based on its claim that she was no longer disabled according to the definition of its policy.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court plus court costs and interest. She is represented by Max Petrunya of Robert Peirce & Associates, P.C. in Pittsburgh.
