Policyholder accuses State Farm of contract breach

PITTSBURGH — A Pennsylvania woman is suing State Farm, alleging breach of contract.

Jennifer Mangiamelle filed a complaint Dec. 14 in Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Darlene Mangiamelle and State Farm Life Insurance Company, alleging they wrongly claim ownership of the policy left by Dwayne Mangiamelle.

According to the complaint, Jennifer Mangiamelle sustained monetary damages from not receiving the policy proceeds left by her late husband. The plaintiff alleges the defendants wrongly filed a claim for life insurance left by her husband Dwayne Mangiamelle.

Jennifer Mangiamelle seeks to declare she is the owner of insurance policy No. L2342-6072, that the oral agreement between the plaintiff and her late husband is still effect stating his wife would be and remains the beneficiary of the policy and declare the plaintiff is entitled to the policy proceeds. She is represented by attorney S. Michael Streib of Pittsburgh.
