PHILADELPHIA — A railroad conductor is suing Norfolk Southern Corporation, citing an alleged unsafe work environment after he slipped and was injured while working.

Brian Fetherolf of Whitehall filed a complaint on Feb. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania alleging that the employer failed to provide its employees including plaintiff a reasonably safe area to work.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in February 2014 he sustained physical injuries while performing his duties at work after he slipped due to conditions made hazardous by ice or snow. The plaintiff holds Norfolk Southern responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to implement safety precautions for its employees.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $150,000 for compensatory damages, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Anthony M. DiGiulio of Barish Rosenthal in Philadelphia.
