PHILADELPHIA — A box factory worker is suing Bobst Lyon and Bobst Mex SA, French and Swiss companies, respectively, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries, liability and negligence after a workplace accident.

Ryan Mohammed filed a complaint on March 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants alleging that they manufactured a defective machine and sold it to plaintiff's employer, Mid-Atlantic Packaging of Montgomeryville.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he sustained serious physical injuries including permanent amputation and loss of the use of his left hand. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly design the Martin 924 Flexo-Folder-Gluer machine.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $150,000 plus interest and court costs. He is represented by Raymond M. Bily of Reiff and Bily in Philadelphia.
