PHILADELPHIA — A Kentucky woman is suing Monarch Recovery Management Inc., a debt collector, alleging the company made misrepresentations in attempting to collect.
Whitney Bryant filed a complaint on April 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania alleging that the Philadelphia-based collector sent a collection letter to the plaintiff which does not specify the name of the original creditor.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, in April 2016, she sustained damages from receiving a collection letter without the name of the actual creditor. The plaintiff holds Monarch Recovery Management responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide the plaintiff with an initial communication letter regarding the debt.
The plaintiff seeks actual damages, statutory damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Antranig Garibian of Garibian Law Offices P.C. in Philadelphia.
