PHILADELPHIA — A consumer is suing Security Financial Solutions LLC, a debt collector based in Carnegie, citing alleged misrepresentation in debt collection.

Erin Carroll filed a complaint on April 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Security Financial Solutions alleging that the defendant sent a collection letter to the plaintiff which contained false information regarding her debt.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, in April 2016, she was sent a collection letter stating that she was required to agree to a settlement. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because the firm allegedly sent a letter to the plaintiff stating in one part of the communication that the settlement offer would expire by a particular date, and in another part of the letter, it stated a different date. The complaint also alleges that it was unclear who the creditor was based on the letter.

The plaintiff seeks actual damages, statutory damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Antranig Garibian of Garibian Law Offices P.C. in Philadelphia.
