IFS Industries says Minnesota company wrongfully claims patent

Patents 02

PHILADELPHIA — A Reading corporation is suing H.B. Fuller Company, of Minnesota, citing alleged patent infringement regarding an adhesive product it says it developed.

IFS Industries Inc. filed a complaint on April 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against H.B. Fuller Company alleging that the company claims ownership of a patent application filed by the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it sustained damages from having been threatened with legal action by the defendant. The plaintiff holds H.B. Fuller Company responsible because it allegedly wrongfully claims ownership of the patent for an adhesive product that was filed by the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks declaration that the defendant has no legal rights to the intellectual property in question, and any further relief this court grants. It is represented by Rayna E. Kessler of Robins Kaplan LLP in New York.
