Lighting company says OKT Lighting infringed patent

PHILADELPHIA — A Massachusetts company is suing OKT Lighting a/k/a Shenzhen OKT Lighting Co. Ltd. a/k/a OKT Lighting International Group Ltd., citing alleged copyright infringement and patent infringement.

JLC-Tech LLC and JLC-Tech IP LLC filed a complaint on May 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants alleging that they copied plaintiff's patented T-Bar LED Smart light.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they sustained damages to their business as the result of their patent being infringed. The plaintiffs holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly copied the design of plaintiff's product.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek to enjoin the defendant from further infringing their patent and require the defendant to forfeit all products and materials that infringes plaintiff's patent, as well as actual damages not less than $500,000, actual and statutory damages of $150,000 per each of the three works for a total of $450,000, court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Michael E. Bonner of Ansa Assuncao LLP in Philadelphia.
