PITTSBURGH — Two former employees have filed a class-action lawsuit against MEC Construction LLC, of Mount Morris, citing alleged unpaid wages and violation of Workers' Compensation acts.

Jonathan Pritt and Richard D. Spencer, both West Virginia residents, filed a complaint on behalf of others similarly situated on May 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania alleging that the employer, which provided fabrication and maintenance services for the energy industry in its West Virginia location where the plaintiffs were employed, failed to properly compensate the plaintiffs for their work.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they frequently worked for more than 40 hours per week but were not paid overtime wages at the applicable rate. The plaintiffs hold MEC Construction responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay sufficient overtime wages to the plaintiffs.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek all damages, unpaid wages and unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, court costs, interest and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Mark Goldner and Maria W. Hughes of Hughes & Goldner PLLC in Charleston, West Virginia.
