Newpark says Checkers Safety Group sells industrial mats that infringe on patents

ERIE — A Texas company is suing Checkers Industrial Products LLC d/b/a Checkers Safety Group, alleging patent infringement.

Newpark Mats & Integrated Services LLC filed a complaint on June 1 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Checkers Safety Group alleging that the Colorado-based company, which has a place of business in Titusville, manufactured products that infringed plaintiff's patents for its industrial mats.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it sustained damages to its business from having its patents infringed. The plaintiff holds Checkers Safety Group responsible because it allegedly sells mats that infringe on plaintiff's patents.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks injunction against the defendant, damages, interest, enhanced damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. Newpark is represented by Jayme Partridge and B. Todd Patterson of Patterson & Sheridan LLP in Houston.
