PHILADELPHIA — A diet-plan marketer is suing Supplement Direct Ventures Inc. and ABC Co. d/b/a Supplement Police, alleging negligent misrepresentation and unfair competition.

Golo LLC filed a complaint on June 2 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants alleging that they made false and misleading statements regarding plaintiff's products.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it sustained damages to its business from defamation by the defendants. The plaintiff holds Supplement Direct Ventures and Supplement Police responsible because the defendants allegedly published or featured an online review that contained false claims regarding the plaintiff's products in order to deter customers from buying them.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. Golo is represented by M. Kelly Tillery of Pepper Hamilton LLP in Philadelphia.
