ERIE — The relative of a deceased man is suing the United States of America, alleging that doctors and staff employed by a federal prison were negligent in treating him.
Conrad C. Bielewicz, New York resident and administrator of the estate of Joseph Bielewicz, filed a complaint on May 31 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania alleging that the federal government, through FCI-McKean County, where the deceased was housed, failed to provide proper medical care to Joseph Bielewicz.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Joseph Bielewicz experienced pain due to having an ulcer left untreated. The plaintiff holds the federal government responsible because FCI-McKean County and its staff allegedly failed to diagnose Joseph Bielewicz's condition and provide the proper treatment.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant for damages, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Donald J. Feinberg of The Feinberg Firm P.C. in Philadelphia.
